As part of PetHobbyist.com's annual Chat Week, DogHobbyist.com welcomes Caroline Coile as our guest in a very special chat on showing dogs. Caroline is the author numerous popular books, including Show Me! A Dog Showing Primer. Caroline is also the owner of the busy YahooGroup of the same name: Show-Me.

Caroline Coile has studied, trained and competed with dogs most of her life. Never content to accept the established dogma of the dog world, her research interests in canine behavior, genetics, neurophysiology, anatomy, and especially, sensory systems, led to a Ph.D. from the Florida State University.

Caroline has shared her findings in more than 200 magazine and scientific journal articles, and in 21 books about dogs. She writes the Breeder's Notebook column for Dog World magazine. Her dog writing awards include the Dog Writer's Association of America Maxwell Award, Denlinger Award, and the Eukanuba Canine Health Award. Her best-known books are Barron's Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds, Show Me!, Beyond Fetch, and How Smart Is Your Dog?.

Caroline lives near Live Oak, Florida, where she shares her home with her 7 salukis. They include Best in Show, Best in Specialty, Best in Field, American Saluki Association Dog of the Year, and Pedigree Award winners, as well as nationally ranked #1 conformation and #1 obedience salukis. More importantly, they provide a never-ending source of challenges, adventure, frustration, inspiration and love...
