Does one size fit all when it comes to dog diet? No, says Monica Segal - just as with humans, every dog is an individual and will have his or her own unique nutritional needs. So if you're baffled by exactly what you should be feeding your dog - raw, cooked, homemade, kibble, canned, frozen? - this is the chat for you!

As part of PetHobbyist.com's annual Chat Week, DogHobbyist.com welcomes Monica Segal as our special guest. Monica is the author of K9Kitchen: Your Dogs' Diet: The Truth Behind The Hype. She received her certification in Animal Health Care from the University of Guelph. She continues to study in the areas of animal nutrition, physiology, parasitology and disease. Monica’s articles on canine nutrition have appeared in several publications, and she is frequently interviewed on radio and television stations. Monica has formulated customized canine diets for clients throughout North America, Europe and Australia. She enjoys working closely with veterinarians, offering assistance in solving diet related health issues. She hosts the internet discussion group K9Kitchen, and conducts seminars and workshop by invitation. Monica lives in Toronto, Ontario, with her husband Morley and their canine companions, Zoey and Cassie.

How to Attend

This event will be held in the NEW Dog Den chat room. To access the room:

  • If you are a registered user of our site, simply follow this link: Dog Den, and log in with your username and password. (Forgot them? Click here!)

  • If you are not already a registered user of the site, registration is not required - simply go to chat.pethobbyist.com and use the "Guest" log-in option, then select the Dog Den as your chat room.

There is nothing to download or install, but the system does require you to have java enabled in your browser settings. We strongly suggest you access the room before the chat, so you have time to address any difficulties you might have. You might want to drop by one of our regular weekly chats as a test run ANYTIME AFTER WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3. Prior to that date, our chats will still be held in our old chat rooms. If you have trouble, please visit our Chat Help Area.
