About Our Guests

Darlene Arden with Betty White. Darlene Arden is the author of The Irrepressible Toy Dog and an internationally recognized authority on toy dogs and their care, as well as on general health and welfare issue regarding all canines. She is a long-time member of the Dog Writers' Association of America (DWAA) and has written hundreds of articles and columns for all of the major dog publications. A frequent guest on radio and television programs on the subject of dogs and animal welfare, Darlene is also a judge for the World Canine Freestyle Organization. Victor Joris is the author of The Complete Shih Tzu, an AKC judge of the Toy Breeds, as well as numerous other breeds and Best in Show. He is the author also of the history of the breed for the American Shih Tzu Club.

Elaine Gewirtz is the author of Pugs for Dummies and Your Yorkshire Terrier's Life, and is the author of, or contributed to, many other books and magazine articles. Elaine is a winner of the Dog Writers' Association of America's Maxwell Award for Excellence and the ASPCA Special Writing Award. She has lived with pugs all her life.
