I talk with a lot of clients about switching their dogs to raw. This is the perfect book to help people with the switch. It's written in no-nonsense terms and is easy to read. Kudos to the author. I think the resources at the back of the book are terrific. Many don't know where to start and this book gives a person many ideas.
I have fed raw for over 15 years but I wanted to see what the author had to say as the book was recommended on one of the lists I subscribe too. Since I have fed raw for a long time I did not nor did I expect to learn anything new. However for a new person it may take some of the worry out of feeding this way.
My dogs are all very healthy. Even the ones that were switched over late in their life lived to a ripe old age of 13 or more and several to 19.
The biggest problem has been that most vets do not know the benefits of a fresh food diet and try to discourage feeding this way.
I hope people use common sense in this regard. Not only is this a healthier way of feeding pets but its cheaper as well.

very helpful book
I am new to the raw diet and found this book to be very helpful. It is practical and very easy to follow. I highly recommend it for those who are new to the "raw world." The author offers a relaxed, easy plan for starting your dog on raw foods, most of which you can purchase at your local supermarket.
Great book, Perfect for Beginners
I had just started feeding raw and wanted something in my hands to help. This book was super easy to read and understand. It's the perfect book for beginners in the world of raw feeding.
It's also a handy reference to keep when you need specific info.
Highly recommended.
